Established in 2000 by Dr. Vineet Kumar Gupta, MD (Psychiatry), Maanavta is a leading Psychiatric and De-addiction Inpatient Centre in Dehradun. Dr. Gupta's vision of empathetic care and expert treatments has made it a premier destination for mental health care in Uttarakhand. In 2019, his son Dr. Dhruv Gupta, MD (Psychiatry), joined, transitioning the clinic to Maanavta Psychiatry and De-addiction Centre, continuing the legacy of medical excellence and compassionate patient care.

HOW IT STARTED?
The journey of serving patients with supportive treatments began with a vision of Dr. Vineet Kumar Gupta, who started his Psychiatry practice in the year 1991 in Muzaffarnagar (UP).
In 2000, he decided to return to his hometown (Dehradun), driven by a profound sense of duty and responsibility towards his home state, Uttarakhand.
Recognizing the lack of awareness about mental health issues, the prevalent stigma and mistreatment surrounding mental health care, the lack of humanity in psychiatry, and the rising prevalence of drug abuse in the state, Dr. Vineet Kumar Gupta laid the foundation of the OPD centre in Dehradun, based on a fundamental belief in the humane and supportive treatment for psychiatric patients.
WHY MAANAVTA - ITS CORE BELIEF
At Maanavta, the core belief extends far beyond conventional medical treatment such as cold turkey, intensive therapeutic intervention, etc. It firmly believes that true healing encompasses understanding and empathy towards every individual who is suffering from such less-talked-about disorders. Dr. Vineet Kumar Gupta

Dr. Vineet Kumar Gupta, the founder of Maanavta, is a pioneering psychiatrist who was born and brought up in Dehradun. He completed his MD in Psychiatry from King George’s Medical College, Lucknow in 1990 and spearheaded groundbreaking research initiatives in biological psychiatry, supported by esteemed institutions like the Indian College Of Medical Research and the World Health Organization. His passion for destigmatizing psychiatry was ignited during his postgraduate thesis, where he uncovered prevalent societal misconceptions. As a prolific speaker, Dr. Vineet Kumar Gupta has delivered over 200 orations across diverse platforms, ranging from academic conferences to national forums attended by dignitaries like Hon.
Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. Committed to holistic patient care, he channels his extensive expertise into treating complex cases, particularly in schizophrenia, bipolar disorders, and neurological conditions. At Maanavta, he leads with compassion, emphasising psychosocial rehabilitation and clinical treatment. His tireless dedication to mental well-being underscores Maanavta’s mission to foster a society where every individual who goes through such disorders receives the support and care they deserve.
Dr. Dhruv Gupta

Dr. Dhruv Gupta is a visionary leader and founder of the inpatient unit at Maanavta Psychiatry and De-addiction Centre, Dehradun. With a profound dedication to revolutionising mental health care, he brings expertise and compassion to his role. Born and raised in Dehradun, his journey in medicine began with a distinguished academic career, culminating in an MD in Psychiatry from (SGRR) Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute Of Medical And Health Sciences and an MBBS from MAMC, one of the top 5 medical colleges in India. During post-graduate training, his areas of interest expanded to include de-addiction and neurocognitive disorders. His multifaceted approach integrates clinical excellence with cutting-edge research, ensuring every individual receives holistic and reliable treatment. As a co-founder, his leadership propels Maanavta to create a society where mental well-being is prioritised and not considered taboo.
